Doctors today

Another appt today at 1030 am. It is routine, echocardiogram and chatting with the doc. We will be scheduleing a catheter surgery for december! I am excited and terrified at the same time. The cath will tell us alot, i think. As far as i understand our findings could be no change, meaning this is here to stay and massive changes to life will continue to come. Or we could finding change to varying degrees from very little, would be good, moving in the right direction but very slowly, to big change and schedualing surgery, and all the many points inbetween. I have no expectations for how this will go today. I hope we are not late for school again though.
Our other craziness for today is scheduling the cath. Haley has 3 weeks off, dec 16th thru jan 9. i am hoping we can do it on a monday just in case we need to stay in the hospital for any period of time. Doc says it should be surgery in the morning, sleep in her own bed that night. But I have found there is no routine things for PHers. It goes as far as a pretty simple cleaning at the dentist she will need to be on antibiotics before and after, to if she ever has to have a cavity drilled (or really any surgery she has to be put under for) it will be at PCH with her whole cardiology team right there. God bless the pediatric cardiology anesteologists, who literally have kids lives in their hands everyday. One  doctor told us that sometimes the kids are to risky to put under so the ped card anesthesiologist will not do it. I am not sure how true that is, when you get into that career field I am pretty sure you know what your getting into. But I suppose it could happen. So back to scheduling, every weekend has something very important so I am hoping for early in the week. We will see.

I hope you all are still with us.

So recently Haley told me she feels better when she has her oxygen on, which before she said she felt no difference. We are going to ask the doctor today about getting a small portable O2 concentrator. I have seen kids walking around with smaller backpack with nasal cannula on, so I know they have them. It is tough to want to bring her tank, because it is as big as she is which brings alot of attention and the tube has to be long so she can move about a bit, but then it gets trampled, run over and tangled.

I will write again after the appt. Also people in AZ get ready, we are putting on a benefit garage sale for Haley. I will post more info later, but it will be on december 8th, 9th, and 10th. thats thursday thru saturday. Please plan to swing by and check it out!
