attitude

So lately Haley has the attitude of a 15 yr old know it all girl. Im not sure where she picks this stuff up, but her body language is ridiculous and some of the things she says is just crazy. So anyway tonight we had a "fun" dinner of turkey dogs and chili and grabbed a movie. Which Haley and Nick went to the store to get. While they were out, Haley decided it was a good idea to run away from nick in the parking lot at night, so he caught her by the arm and she starts throwing a fit, kicking and screaming. I guess there was a couple walking by that nick said looked worried. In the store she decided to do it again, and then once more at the movie store, throw a fit I mean but not all the same. This was probably the 4 big situation we have had the past month, so she was told she could not watch the movie with us. It was sad and nick was bummed. So she cried a bit and then ran to her room and started cleaning it. When she was done she expected that she had earned it back by cleaning her room, which is what happened the last couple times. But I felt like I had to teach her there are consequences to your choices and you cant always get out of them. The times before I was trying to teach her that even if she gets in trouble you should change your attitude and try and earn it back if you can.

It is hard enough to discipline your kid, but I have found it is so much harder to do it when she is looking at you with black under her eyes and oxygen tubes up her nose. We have been picking our battles better lately. If she would only just listen to me, like I did my parents.....hahahaha So tonight she stayed in her room, read books and feel asleep while we watched the movie, and it sucked for all of us. Ashley did go in there and explain to Haley that she was going to watch it and gave her a hug before.
